Template Spotlight: Content Expander

Let’s explore how you can extend content to convert a few key points describing your product into a longer publication, whether it be a blog entry, an email or a social media post.

1. Select Content Expander, and name your card

2. Enter in key information

Provide a few bullet points that you want expanded upon. We recommend adding all 3 bullet points; these can be phrases or full sentences.

First point: The Internship Program in Tallinn was conceived for students and young professionals who demonstrate a passion for Nordic cultures.

Second point: This amazing educational travel opportunity combines tourism with practical learning through work experience with an international company.

Third point: Our coordinators will guide you through every stage, from application to placement in any area of your choice.

Otherwise you can use phrases that do not end with a full stop, such as

First point: Internship Program in Tallinn conceived for students and young professionals passionate about Nordic cultures

Second point: An amazing educational travel opportunity to combine tourism with practical learning through work experience with an international company

Third point: Full guidance through every stage, from application to placement in any area of your choice

This latter format may yield generations that look a bit different, and there may be more of them.

3. Add keywords

You can also add keywords to avoid to guide the generation.

4. Generate copy!

Click “Generate” and voila—you get 10–20 pieces of copy.

Some of these look good, but they could be a bit more specific on the program’s particular benefits. Since you’ve been advertising the winter program, the info for the summer program will need an edit. For future generations, add ‘winter’ into Keywords to Avoid.

5. Discard what doesn’t work for you, heart your favourites, and choose from your top results.

You can eliminate what you don’t want to use from the list by selecting the Trash Bin icon at the bottom of your text.

What’s awesome about Copysmith is that you can even feed phrases Copysmith generated for you back into the left-hand component of the template. Things you might add: promotions you’re running or a specific location.

6. Play around with parameters, and edit your favourites!

So you liked one of the generations, but the program duration came out wrong. All you need to do is click on the generation and edit it. Select the text and change ‘two-week’ to ‘three-month.’

Fun fact: when you upgrade to a paid account, we use your liking, editing, and deletion activity to fine-tune our model’s understanding of your writing style. So the more you use Copysmith, the closer to your writing style copysmithing becomes!

7. (Optional) Share your generations with others to review

You may want to discus these generations with your team, boss or manager to approve or reject them. To share the results with colleagues simply click “Share copy” and your favourites will appear at the top. You can share the link and the reviewers can upvote and downvote generations.

8. Export your favourites to CSV

All the generations can now be saved in CSV: an easy-to-use function that lets you directly add the copy to your web site, blog platform, or editor tool. Click “Download selected” on the top after you make your preferences!

9. Repeat!

You can always go back to this campaign and generate more content with the same parameters. Feel free to regenerate new copy ideas by adding and deleting parameters, or start anew with a fresh card.
